How we started?

In March 2021, Restless development through the sponsorship of Unilever, Project everyone and The Global Goals organised youth power hacks. They brought youths from all over the world together to hack solutions to the sustainable development goals.

Youths were organised into groups with a specific SDG and that was how the Street2school project was birthed because we were tasked with providing solutions to the educational inequality amongst Nigerian children.

By August 2021, Street2school emerged top 20 out of 52 team in the world through a highly challenging and competitive pitch process. Thereafter each team was sponsored with a seed funding scheme to bring their ideas to life. And in March 2022, team Street2school officially piloted their project in the Zamani community of Abuja. The pilot was a massive success which saw the outturn of over 60 out-of-school children ready to be educated.

April 2022, we team Street2school pitched our way to top 12 teams and thereafter emerged the top last four in the whole world. This made us the only Nigerian and African team to achieve that feat. We won sponsorship from Unilever alongside mentorship from Restless Development and the Global Goals.
